A large scale private estate in Austin, Texas is seeking an experienced ranch hand to support the day-to-day function, presentation, and long-term stewardship of extensive landholdings and associated properties.
This is a full-time, primarily daytime position working closely with the Estate Manager and property team. The role suits a hands-on, operationally focused professional who takes pride in maintaining rural estates, infrastructure, and equipment to exceptional standards.
Key Responsibilities
• Oversee ongoing upkeep of ranch land, facilities, and surrounding properties
• Support equestrian areas, irrigation, landscaping, and general grounds maintenance
• Operate and maintain tractors, skid steers, mowers, and utility vehicles
• Assist with wildlife management and land care initiatives
• Undertake repairs, carpentry, and infrastructure projects
• Work alongside staff and external contractors as required
• Monitor estate conditions and proactively address maintenance issues
• Assist with materials sourcing and project coordination
• Maintain task schedules and operational consistency
• Provide input on efficiency improvements and property planning
Key Responsibilities
• 5+ years’ experience across ranch, rural estate, farming, or land management environments
• Strong understanding of irrigation systems and property maintenance
• Highly practical with machinery and equipment operation
• Comfortable working autonomously and within a wider estate team
• Professional, discreet, and respectful of privacy
• Well organized with strong time management
• Clean driver’s license required
