Overview
A family in Woodside, CA, is seeking an experienced, detail-oriented full-time Housekeeper, starting within the next four weeks. The home is approximately 8,400 sq. ft (5 beds, 6 baths, pool house, and garage). The general schedule is 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, 8 am–4 pm, with some flexibility as needed. This is an excellent long-term opportunity for a professional housekeeper who takes pride in maintaining a high-standard private residence, while respecting that it is first and foremost a family home (with both children and pets).
Responsibilities
- All aspects of daily cleaning, including care of high-end surfaces, finishes, and garments (the candidate will be expected to coordinate any deep cleaning with a service)
- Coordinate and communicate with external specialty cleaners as needed
- Assist with household events and entertaining, including pre- and post-event cleaning
- Laundry, ironing, and garment care, including delicate fabrics
- Bed linen care and bed making
- Daily tidying and maintaining a guest-ready home
- Organization of closets, pantries, and storage areas
- Grocery shopping, keeping the refrigerator/pantry stocked, running errands
- Proactively identifying cleaning or maintenance needs
Qualifications
- Intuitive, organized, self-starter, and comfortable working autonomously and as part of a broader household team
- Confidential, humble,e and able to maintain a lower profile presence around the home (discreet)
- Professional, polished, with strong attention to detail
- Collaborative team player (there is a personal assistant, house manager, chief of staff, and nanny team)
- Strong emotional intelligence and situational awareness
Requirements
- Legal authorization to work in the U.S
- Valid driver’s license
- Prior experience in a similar private household role
- Strong knowledge of fine surfaces and garment care
- Pet friendly - the family has 3 cats, so candidates must not have an allergy to cats
Salary and Benefits
- $60-80/hr
