Overview
A wonderful family of four is seeking a nanny to care for their 5-month-old son. They also have an older child who is currently home-schooled and has their own caregiver. The schedule is to be determined but will be Monday through Friday with a 40-hour week, the parents would like flexibility with the hours when required. Meaning some days may be longer/shorter than others.
This is a live-out role but they are open for live-in if required. The family currently reside in Chappaqua but will be moving to South Salem in May. The family have a full-time housekeeper but the candidate should have a pitch-in attitude when needed.
The parents are very hands on and enjoy spending quality time with their children. They're looking for the perfect 'Mary Poppins' partner, who is warm, nurturing, fun, grounded and calm, who won't get overwhelmed and can take control when needed.
Responsibilities
- All aspects of childcare for the child, including managing sleep and feeding schedules
- Assist with the weaning stage - baby led weaning is their preferred choice
- Maintaining organization of the baby's spaces
- Keeping on top of baby supplies, and making necessary purchases
- Creating an engaging environment and providing developmentally appropriate enrichment daily
- Researching classes and making sure the baby gets out for social and educational outings
- Packing for travel and planning outings in all locations
- Travel with the family
- Willing to proxy parent both children when the parents travel
Qualifications
- Comfortable working with involved parents, and with full-charge care as needed
- Warm and nurturing
- Flexible and organized-able to keep structure while going with the flow
- Educated and sophisticated; focused on childhood development and fostering diverse interests and skills
- Thoughtful and proactive
- High EQ/IQ
- Engaging with children
- Strong communication skills
- Desire for a long-term position
- Babysitting when required
- Comfortable around dogs as the family may get one in the near future
Requirements
- Must have experience working with children of this age group
- First Aid & CPR Certified
- Up-to-date on infant vaccines including TDap and MMR
- The ability to swim and supervise children in the pool (their home in South Salem will have a pool)
- 5+ years experience
- A driver's license and clean driving record is required
- Previous experience working in HNW households
Salary and Benefits
- $100K per year
