Overview
A busy, welcoming family in Notting Hill, London seek a fabulous live-out, full-time houseman/maintenance all-rounder/driver who can start towards the end of May. The usual schedule will be 8am-5pm, Monday through Friday, with occasional longer hours needed. Flexibility would therefore be appreciated.
Responsibilities
- Overseeing contractors and maintenance staff
- Driving the principal, ensure the safety and comfort of passengers
- Repairs within the property
- Maintenance and cleanliness of vehicles
- Running errands, collecting items, light grocery shopping
- Being on call for alarms and ad hoc emergencies
- Reporting maintenance issues
- When the family is not in residence, the following duties are added:
- Silver polishing
- Household inventories
- Overseeing art handling and deliveries
- Help with the overall upkeep of the property and its contents
- Checking house systems are working correctly
Requirements
- A good level of fitness - the home has 5 flights of stairs!
- Impressive attention to detail
- Efficient, common sense approach to tasks
- Positive, can-do attitude, able to work equally well as part of a team, or independently
- Excellent references
- Plenty of initiative and self-motivation with a positive, can-do approach
- Fluent in English
- Discreet, flexible, calm personality
- Great with children
