Overview
A warm and well-established Palm Beach family is seeking an experienced and professional overnight, live-in Newborn Care Specialist to support them following the arrival of their third child, expected via surrogate in mid-September. The family has two school aged children, and both parents work full time outside of the home. They are looking for a knowledgeable, sleep-training focused NCS who can provide expert overnight newborn care and help establish healthy sleep habits and self-soothing skills from the very beginning.
The NCS will begin a few days after the family returns home from the hospital, giving the parents time to get acquainted with the baby’s routine before introducing additional support. This is an initial contract of 12 to 16 weeks with the strong potential for an extension depending on the baby’s progress and sleep training milestones.
The family is interviewing now and is not in an immediate time crunch, so they are prioritizing finding the right fit over rushing the process. The ideal candidate is calm, professional, intentional about sleep training methodology, and fully comfortable with formula feeding.
Responsibilities
- Providing attentive and professional overnight newborn care including diaper changes, feeding, swaddling, and all newborn care duties
- Supporting bottle feeding with formula and assisting with breast pump use and proper milk storage as needed
- Preparing and sanitizing bottles and all feeding equipment
- Implementing sleep training methodology to help the baby develop self-soothing skills and healthy sleep habits from the earliest stages
- Keeping detailed overnight logs of feedings, diaper changes, sleep patterns, and behavioral observations
- Organizing and maintaining the nursery each morning
- Handling child-related laundry as needed
- Providing guidance and education to parents on newborn care, sleep training techniques, and developmental stages
- Monitoring the baby’s overall wellbeing and communicating clearly with parents about overnight patterns and any concerns
- Adapting to varying levels of parental presence throughout the week as both parents work full time but may be home full days on some days
