Role: Temporary Yacht Chef – Private 45m Yacht & Residence
Location: Europe (yacht and private residence locations, to be confirmed)
Salary: Circa €400 per day (depending on experience)
Work Schedule: Approximately 15 days per month during August, September, and October
Includes a three-day paid trial after 17th July
Accommodation: Provided while on board the yacht and during relevant work assignments
Start Date: 15th August (following successful trial completion)
Overview and Opportunity
This is an opportunity to work closely with a private client aboard a 45m private yacht, as well as during associated private residence periods. The role requires a highly skilled and adaptable chef capable of delivering high-quality Mediterranean cuisine while working to specific dietary preferences and culinary expectations. The position offers a dynamic working environment split between yacht-based and residence-based assignments across the Mediterranean season.
Job Description
The chef will be responsible for delivering consistently high-standard meals for both guests and crew, ensuring full alignment with the owner’s culinary preferences and dietary requirements. The role requires creativity, discretion, flexibility, and the ability to perform in a fast-paced private service environment. Shortlisted candidates will be required to complete a three-day paid trial and submit a sample three-day menu based on provided guidelines.
Role Responsibilities
- Plan and prepare daily meals for guests and crew onboard and at the private residence
- Deliver Mediterranean-focused cuisine, with emphasis on Italian and/or Spanish dishes
- Adapt menus to dietary requirements and owner preferences
- Manage provisioning, food stock, and galley organisation
- Maintain high standards of hygiene, cleanliness, and food safety
- Work collaboratively within a private household and yacht environment
- Ensure consistency, creativity, and presentation across all meals
- Travel as required between yacht and residence locations
Candidate Requirements
- Proven experience as a yacht chef on vessels of similar size (or equivalent private household experience)
- Strong expertise in Mediterranean cuisine, particularly Italian and/or Spanish
- Valid STCW and ENG1 certificates (essential)
- Schengen eligibility and full flexibility to travel within Europe
- Experience catering for both guests and crew
- Ability to work to precise culinary preferences and dietary guidelines
- Strong organisational and time-management skills under pressure
