Overview
A warm and welcoming UHNW family is seeking an experienced House Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of their private residence. This is a hands-on position requiring exceptional organisational skills, discretion, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining the highest standards throughout the home.
The successful candidate will be proactive, resourceful, and confident in managing household staff, contractors, vendors, and household projects. They will act as the central point of coordination, ensuring the residence runs seamlessly and efficiently while providing outstanding service to the family.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the daily operations and overall management of the residence.
- Ensure the home is maintained to impeccable standards at all times.
- Recruit, onboard, train, supervise, and support household staff where required.
- Create staff schedules and oversee payroll submissions and timesheets where applicable.
- Coordinate household maintenance, repairs, and preventative servicing.
- Manage relationships with contractors, vendors, and service providers.
- Source quotations, negotiate pricing, and oversee household projects.
- Monitor household inventories and organise the purchase of supplies and household essentials.
- Manage household budgets, expenses, invoices, and records.
- Develop and maintain household manuals, operational procedures, and service standards.
- Coordinate family arrivals, departures, travel preparations, and guest stays.
- Assist with event planning and oversee in-home entertaining when required.
- Liaise with the Family Office, Personal Assistants, and external professionals to ensure seamless communication.
- Anticipate the family’s needs and proactively resolve issues before they arise.
- Maintain complete confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
Candidate Requirements
- Previous experience as a House Manager within a UHNW or private household.
- Proven experience managing household staff and external contractors.
- Exceptional organisational and time management skills.
- Strong leadership and communication abilities.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a proactive approach.
- High level of discretion, professionalism, and emotional intelligence.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining exceptional attention to detail.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and household management systems.
- Valid driver’s licence preferred.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and travel when required.
