Role: Chef de Partie
Location: County Durham
Salary: £30,000 per annum + service charge
Work Schedule: 40 hours per week, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays on a rota basis
Accommodation: Live-in accommodation available

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a talented and enthusiastic Chef de Partie to join the opening team of a brand-new restaurant within a prestigious luxury hotel and resort in County Durham. This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of an exciting new culinary venture from launch and contribute to delivering an exceptional dining experience.
The property is recognised for its commitment to excellence, luxury hospitality, and high-quality food and beverage offerings. The successful candidate will join a professional kitchen brigade and play an important role in establishing the restaurant as a leading dining destination.
Job Description:
As Chef de Partie, you will be responsible for managing your designated section and ensuring the preparation and presentation of dishes are consistently delivered to the highest standards. Working closely with the senior kitchen team, you will support the smooth running of service while maintaining excellent food quality, hygiene, and operational standards.
The restaurant will operate with a dedicated kitchen and front-of-house team, serving guests throughout the week. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop your skills within a high-quality hospitality environment while working alongside experienced chefs.
You will be expected to take ownership of your section, assist with stock management, and contribute to maintaining an organised and efficient kitchen operation.
Role Responsibilities:
- Prepare, cook, and present dishes within your designated section to a consistently high standard
- Ensure mise en place is completed efficiently and accurately for service
- Maintain high standards of food quality, presentation, and portion control
- Support the senior kitchen team during busy service periods
- Ensure food safety, hygiene, and health & safety procedures are followed at all times
- Assist with stock rotation, stock control, and minimising food waste
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation within your section and the wider kitchen
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure smooth kitchen operations
- Support the training and development of junior kitchen team members where required
- Contribute positively to a professional and high-performing kitchen culture
Candidate Requirements:
- Previous experience as a Chef de Partie or strong Demi Chef de Partie within a quality restaurant, hotel, or hospitality environment
- Strong culinary skills and attention to detail
- Passion for high-quality food and hospitality
- Good knowledge of food safety and kitchen hygiene standards
- Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn and develop
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills
- Eligibility to work in the UK
