An exciting opportunity has arisen for a talented and passionate Pastry Chef de Partie to join the pastry team within a prestigious luxury hotel and resort in County Durham. Job Description:
As Pastry Chef de Partie, you will take responsibility for your designated section within the pastry kitchen, ensuring the preparation, production, and presentation of desserts, pastries, and baked goods are consistently delivered to the highest standards.
Working closely with the senior pastry team, you will assist in maintaining smooth day-to-day operations, supporting service delivery across the property’s food and beverage outlets and special events. The role requires excellent attention to detail, strong organisational skills, and a genuine passion for pastry and dessert creation.
You will be responsible for maintaining quality standards, assisting with stock control, and ensuring all food safety and hygiene procedures are followed. This position offers the opportunity to work with high-quality ingredients and contribute to seasonal menu development within a luxury hospitality setting.
Role Responsibilities:
- Prepare, produce, and present high-quality desserts, pastries, breads, and bakery items
- Manage your designated section within the pastry kitchen during preparation and service
- Ensure consistency in quality, presentation, and portion control across all pastry offerings
- Support the senior pastry team with menu development and seasonal changes
- Maintain high standards of food hygiene, cleanliness, and organisation
- Assist with stock control, ordering, and stock rotation procedures
- Minimise food waste and support cost-control initiatives
- Ensure food safety and health & safety regulations are adhered to at all times
- Support the training and development of junior members of the pastry team
- Work collaboratively with the wider kitchen brigade to deliver exceptional guest experiences
Candidate Requirements:
- Previous experience as a Pastry Chef de Partie or strong Demi Chef de Partie within a quality hotel, restaurant, or hospitality environment
- Strong pastry and dessert production skills with excellent attention to detail
- Passion for high-quality ingredients, presentation, and creativity
- Good knowledge of food safety and kitchen hygiene standards
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced professional kitchen
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Positive attitude and commitment to continuous learning and development
- Relevant culinary qualifications would be advantageous
- Eligibility to work in the UK
