Job Description
A formal, fully staffed private household in Kensington is seeking an experienced and professional live-in Housekeeper to support the smooth day-to-day running of a large family residence.
The property is a substantial detached home, and the household includes two adults, five children, and a full team of staff, including nannies, housekeepers, and drivers.
This is a hands-on role suited to a highly organised, discreet, and proactive individual who is confident working in a structured, team-oriented environment. The position combines housekeeping of key living areas with household coordination and family support.
Candidate Requirements
- Extensive experience in private households, ideally within formal or fully staffed environments
- Strong longevity in previous roles
- Fluent English and Russian
- Confident family cook with experience preparing fresh, simple meals for children
- Highly organised with excellent attention to detail
- Proactive and able to anticipate household needs
- Discreet, professional, and calm in approach
- Comfortable working collaboratively with other staff
- Confident in managing household administration and liaising with contractors
- Right to work in the UK
Role Responsibilities
- Maintain cleanliness and presentation of main living areas (kitchen, dining room, reception rooms, entrance areas)
- Prepare daily breakfast and weekday lunch for the family
- Ensure kitchen and dining areas are consistently clean and well organised
- Manage household shopping and provisions, including fridge organisation
- Receive deliveries, couriers, and oversee incoming items
- Liaise with contractors and report maintenance issues
- Support the day-to-day organisation of the household
- Coordinate effectively with other members of staff
- Assist with children-related support (meal preparation, coordinating with tutors)
- Manage items for dry cleaning and external laundry services
- Run errands as required with the driver
Additional Responsibilities
- Occasional care of two small dogs when in residence
