Overview
A lovely family in Port Imperial, NJ is seeking an exceptional live-out newborn care specialist to work days until the first week of January for their new baby who will be about 5 weeks old at the start. These first-time parents are excited to build a respectful, collaborative relationship with an experienced care provider. They deeply value kindness, open communication, and treating their caregiver as an important member of their child’s support team. Mom is a physician with a varying schedule so the there are specific weeks care if needed. Typically, she is on call every day for a week and then off the following week. The nanny’s workdays would be 8am-5pm though some flexibility for evenings, with notice would be appreciated. They are looking for a warm and professional nanny who will stay with their family long-term and wants to support their baby's growth, watch baby grow, and keep a calm and child focused environment.
The ideal dates are: September 7-13September 28- October 4October 12-18November 2-8November 23-29December 14-20December 28- January 3
Responsibilities
- Full newborn care: Providing a warm and loving environment, care and engagement of the child including enrichment with an emphasis on child-led play, reading, music, language development, and age-appropriate developmental activities. Parents plan to have a screen free home around baby.
- Providing daily updates regarding feeding, sleep, diapers, developmental milestones, and activities using Baby Connect.
- Coordinating schedules for naps and bottles
- Helping with the child’s laundry if there is time
- Nursery duties including managing the tidiness and organization of the child's space and restocking baby items such as diapers and wipes
Qualifications
- Extremely reliable! Both parents have demanding careers and will rely heavily on this NCS. Someone who can really support mom as she goes back to work.
- Warm and nurturing personality
- Team player with excellent communication who is happy to partner and collaborate with parents. Some days mom may have flexibility to come home between patients and dad typically works hybrid (home office and out of the home other days)
- Safety minded and up to date on best practices for safe sleep, feeding, etc.
Requirements
- At least five years of experience working with infants including newborns
- Willingness to practice strict hand washing hygiene and wear a mask in the home if returning from travel.
- Infant and child CPR and first aid certification, or willing to renew before start date if expired
- Tech savvy (BabyConnect, calendar, etc.)Legal to work in the US
- Willing to follow American Academy of Pediatrics vaccination guidelines. Must have up to date Tdap, Covid (including applicable boosters) and Flu before starting or in the case of flu as soon as available for 2026 season
- Already local/commuting distance from Port Imperial/Weehawken. This is a LIVE-OUT position
Salary and Benefits
$40-60 per hour
Any holidays worked will be paid at 1.5x
