A wonderful opportunity for an experienced, highly capable Live-Out Housekeeper to join a private household based near Oxford Circus.
The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining the household to an exceptionally high standard, with a strong understanding of caring for fine fabrics, delicate surfaces and luxury furnishings. The role would suit someone who is discreet, polished, organised and genuinely enjoys providing a high level of service.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Daily cleaning and upkeep of the residence to an impeccable standard
- Laundry, washing and ironing, including specialist care of cashmere, silk and other delicate fabrics
- Knowledgeable care and cleaning of brass, marble and other fine surfaces
- Flower arranging and maintaining fresh flowers throughout the property
- Running household errands
- Grocery shopping and sourcing household requirements
- Preparing and beautifully laying out breakfast
- Maintaining household supplies and ensuring the home is well stocked
- Assisting with the smooth day-to-day running of the residence
- Working to a high standard while respecting the privacy and discretion of the principals
- Supporting the household flexibly when the principals are in residence
Working Pattern
Monday to Friday when the principals are not in residence.
When the principals are in residence (approximately 12 weeks of the year), the housekeeper may be required to work some weekend days.
Typical hours when in residence are approximately 7:00am until 2:00/3:00pm.
When the principals are not in residence, the working hours can be more flexible and arranged according to the requirements of the household.
Essential Requirements
- Previous experience working as a housekeeper in a private household
- Excellent attention to detail and very high cleaning standards
- Strong knowledge of caring for brass, marble and other specialist surfaces
- Excellent knowledge of laundry and ironing, particularly cashmere, silk and delicate garments
- Confident with flower arranging
- Comfortable running errands and managing household shopping
- Able to prepare and present a smart breakfast
- Highly flexible and willing to adapt to the requirements of the household
- Discreet, trustworthy and professional
- Well organised with the ability to work independently
- Good communication skills
- A proactive, hands-on approach
