Guest Service & Operations Management Couples Role
Private Island – The Bahamas
Salary: Circa $100,000 DOE + Gratuities
Accommodation Provided | Excellent Leave Package
Couples ideally based in the USA
A fantastic opportunity has become available for an experienced and personable couple to join the management team of an exclusive private island operation in The Bahamas.
The island welcomes a discerning international clientele, with a particularly high level of repeat guests. Service is warm, personal and highly tailored, with the team taking great pride in getting to know their guests and creating a relaxed but exceptional experience from arrival through to departure.
We are looking for a couple who genuinely enjoy working with people and are naturally willing to go the extra mile. Both positions are hands-on, varied and highly guest-facing, so personality and attitude will be just as important as previous experience.
Candidates coming from the superyacht, luxury hospitality, private island or UHNW private service sectors would be particularly well suited.
Guest Service Manager
The Guest Service Manager will take responsibility for the guest journey, beginning before arrival and continuing throughout their stay.
This is a busy and varied position requiring excellent organisation, communication and administration skills alongside a genuine passion for hospitality.
Responsibilities will include:
- Managing guest communications and enquiries
- Gathering detailed guest preferences ahead of arrival
- Coordinating provisioning and ensuring accommodation is prepared and stocked according to individual preferences
- Creating and managing guest itineraries
- Arranging excursions, activities and external reservations
- Coordinating special requests, beach picnics and days out
- Liaising closely with housekeeping, food & beverage and villa service teams
- Managing ordering, invoicing and general administrative duties
- Anticipating guest requirements and resolving requests efficiently
- Ensuring consistently high standards throughout each guest stay
- Taking responsibility for anything and everything guest-service related
The successful candidate will be warm, polished and exceptionally organised, but equally comfortable working within a friendly and down-to-earth island environment.
Operations Manager
The Operations Manager will oversee the practical and technical elements of the island's day-to-day operation.
This position could be particularly well suited to someone from a yacht Deck/Engineering background who is mechanically minded, confident around boats and comfortable troubleshooting technical issues.
Responsibilities will include:
- Supporting the day-to-day operational running of the island
- Troubleshooting mechanical and technical issues
- Working with systems including generators, watermakers and other island infrastructure
- Coordinating with the existing engineering and maintenance teams
- Ordering technical parts, equipment and supplies
- Maintaining effective communications between departments
- Supporting accounting, invoicing and operational administration
- Overseeing and assisting with the island's guest boats
- Familiarising guests with the operation of their boats
- Providing guidance on safe navigation within local waters
- Assisting with wider operational requirements wherever required
Previous experience operating boats in shallow waters or within The Bahamas would be a strong advantage.
About You
Above all, the management team are looking for two people who genuinely love looking after guests.
This isn't an environment where service is simply transactional. Many guests return regularly and the team builds genuine relationships with them, so both candidates need to be naturally personable, engaging and attentive.
You should be:
- Friendly, approachable and confident with guests
- Proactive and willing to go beyond what is expected
- Highly organised and adaptable
- Comfortable working within a multicultural team
- Hands-on and happy to help wherever needed
- Calm and solutions-focused when plans change
- Accustomed to maintaining high standards in a luxury environment
- Comfortable living and working in a remote island setting
Previous superyacht, private household, luxury resort or private island experience would be highly advantageous.
Working Pattern & Package
The island has distinct peak and quieter seasons throughout the year, with the busiest period running approximately from spring through summer.
The normal working week is six days, reflecting the nature of the operation. In return, the package provides a generous amount of time away from the island:
- Approximately 10 weeks' leave in total per year
- Circa $100,000 salary DOE
- Historically approximately $6,000–$8,000 per annum in gratuities
- Accommodation provided
This would be a brilliant opportunity for an adventurous and experienced couple looking to become an integral part of a close-knit team and make a beautiful island environment their home.
