Position: Live-In Domestic Couple

Salary: depending on experience

Holiday: 24 days + 8 bank holidays

Accommodation: Beautiful 3-bedroom Cottage with private garden and garage; all bills paid

The Role

A fantastic opportunity for an experienced Housekeeping and Domestic Couple to join a private family at their beautiful historic estate in Greater London.

The property is a much-loved family home which is used primarily as a private holiday residence, with the family spending several periods of the year at the property. The home has been in the family for many years and requires careful, consistent upkeep throughout the year.

The family are described as warm, friendly and easy-going, but have high standards and a strong eye for detail. They are looking for a professional couple who will take genuine pride in the property and treat it as their own, ensuring it is beautifully maintained whether the family are in residence or away.

Responsibilities

The couple will take responsibility for the day-to-day housekeeping, presentation and upkeep of the property.

Duties will include:

Full housekeeping and detailed cleaning throughout the main residence and additional accommodation
Maintaining the property to an exceptionally high standard year-round
Preparing the house ahead of the family's arrival
Laundry, ironing and care of linens and wardrobes
Correct care of antiques, wood, carpets, luxury fabrics and delicate furnishings
Maintaining kitchens and bathrooms to an excellent standard
Preparing and maintaining guest bedrooms
Monitoring household supplies and ensuring the property is appropriately stocked
Liaising with and supervising contractors and external trades
Providing regular updates to the PA regarding the property and any works required
Assisting with the security and general upkeep of the estate
Running occasional household errands
Working alongside the existing gardening team
Assisting with family gatherings and entertaining, including table setting and service
Occasional home cooking

One member of the couple should be a confident home cook.

Formal chef experience is not required, but the family would ideally like someone who enjoys preparing fresh, nutritious and well-presented meals, particularly when the family are in residence.

There may also be occasions where the couple assist with family gatherings and entertaining, including preparing the property and setting tables for service. Additional support is available for larger events.

The couple will be joining an established household team, including an experienced cleaner and long-standing gardening staff.

Accommodation

The couple will have their own beautiful three-bedroom Gate House situated on the estate.

The accommodation includes:

3 bedrooms

All accommodation bills are paid

Experienced in private households or luxury hospitality
Discreet, trustworthy and respectful of privacy
Hands-on, proactive and highly organised
Extremely detail-oriented with high housekeeping standards
Comfortable caring for a large and historic property
Confident liaising with contractors and external suppliers
Flexible around the family's visits
Comfortable working both independently and as part of a wider team
Happy to take ownership and responsibility for the property when the family are away
Experienced in entertaining and happy to assist with family events
With one partner confident in home cooking
