We are seeking an experienced, caring and organised Nanny to support a private family over the Christmas holidays at their country home in West Berkshire.
The successful candidate will provide attentive care for three children, plan enjoyable holiday activities and maintain their established routines. Confidence working alongside parents and other household staff is essential.
The role involves a mixture of sole-charge and shared care. There will be breaks when childcare is not required, particularly on festive days; however, the nanny will be expected to remain on call during these periods.
Key duties:
Childcare:
- Provide attentive, age-appropriate care for all three children.
- Maintain the toddler’s routine, including naps, meals and developmental activities.
- Plan fun, engaging and stimulating holiday activities suited to the children’s ages and interests.
- Follow established routines while adapting to the family’s festive plans.
- Ensure the children’s safety and wellbeing at all times.
Children’s spaces and household coordination:
- Keep the children’s bedrooms and play areas clean, tidy and organised.
- Work closely with parents and other household staff to coordinate routines and activities.
- Communicate clearly to support a harmonious and well-run household.
Cooking:
- Take responsibility for preparing and cooking meals for all three children.
- Provide nutritious, varied and age-appropriate food, following the family’s preferences and any dietary requirements.
Candidate requirements:
- A proven, stable track record as a nanny, with experience caring for children of similar ages.
- A strong understanding of childhood development and age-appropriate activities.
- A confident, professional and well-presented manner.
- Experience working in busy private households.
- Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage the needs of three children.
- A flexible approach to both sole-charge and shared care.
- Confidence collaborating with parents and other household staff.
- Strong home-cooking skills.
- A clean driving licence and confidence driving.
- Availability for the full assignment, including weekends and festive days.
Location: Grade I listed country house, West Berkshire
Dates: 20th December–3rd January, inclusive
Children: Three children aged 7, 5 and 2½
Rate: Up to £25 per hour for an exceptional candidate. Rate negotiable depending on experience, with premium pay available for festive days.
Accommodation: Live-in preferred, with a private bedroom, en-suite bathroom and private sitting room provided.
Working hours:
Availability is required seven days per week throughout the assignment:
