Overview
A lovely high profile family is seeking an exceptional nanny to care for their bright and active 2-year-old son while they are based in New York from mid-November 2026 through mid-May 2027. The schedule for this role will be Monday through Friday, full-time hours, ideally with flexibility to work some weekends as well. The family travels frequently, and there may be an opportunity for this to develop into a long-term position for the right candidate who is open to relocation and frequent travel full-time. A French-speaking candidate would be ideal, but this is not required and finding the right nanny is the priority!
Responsibilities
- Bringing the child to and from daycare (half days) four days per week
- Taking an active role in planning his days outside of daycare, including researching and organizing classes, activities, playdates, outings and other age-appropriate experiences around New York
- Preparing healthy and age-appropriate meals
- Child-related laundry
- Keeping children's areas tidy and organized
- Managining inventory and purchasing day-to-day supplies including groceries for his meals and snacks, diapers, and other essentials
- Proactively identifying when clothes, toys or equipment have been outgrown and suggesting appropriate replacements or updates
- Maintaining a calm, organized and nurturing environment while encouraging his development, curiosity and independence
- Having a confident and proactive communication style, keeping the parents well informed throughout his day
- Open to and confident providing occasional 24 hour sole care
Qualifications
- Warm and loving
- Engaging and proactive in planning developementally appropriate outings and activities
- Highly organized
- Confident taking initiative, while respecting and maintaining the structures and routine already in place
- Very discreet and security-conscious
Requirements
- US work authorization
- Available for a full-time role from November 2026-May 2027
- An excellent knowledge of NYC, with the confidence to take the lead in creating a stimulating and varied schedule for the child
- French speaking would be ideal but is NOT required
- Recent experience caring for toddlers
- Some flexibility for evenings, overnights, and weekends
