Overview
A reliable and skilled live-out groundsman / caretaker is sought to maintain a private estate in Armonk, NY, starting immediately. The schedule during the Summer will be 9am-5pm, Monday through Friday, and likely either 9am-5pm or 8am-4pm Monday through Friday during the Winter, since the family won't be in residence as often. There may be a need to stay later a few evenings during the Summer, when the family is hosting.
Responsibilities
- Perform daily property inspections, including checking HVAC system, water pipes, running taps, and flushing toilets.
- Handle interior and exterior handyman tasks, including minor repairs and general maintenance.
- Maintain the grounds, including watering plants, caring for outdoor spaces, and ensuring cleanliness.
- Ensure daily garbage removal from the main house.
- Operate and maintain estate equipment as needed.
- Coordinate with contractors and oversee outside work when required.
Qualifications
- 2–5 years of experience working on a private estate or in a similar role.
Requirements
- Strong hands-on handyman skills with the ability to perform property maintenance tasks independently.
- Ability to work both indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Reliable, detail-oriented, and able to work efficiently within the scheduled hours.
