Overview
A wonderful, kind, and caring family living on the Upper East Side, is seeking a part-time nanny to care for their children, aged 3-years-old, and 7-years-old. The children attend school full-time, and the schedule would be Monday through Friday, 2pm-7pm. The schedule would remain the same during the school holidays.
This is an animal-friendly household; they own two cats, and one dog, which aren't hypoallergenic.
The family is looking for a candidate who wants longevity in a position and to become an extended member of their family.
The position is to start in early September at the latest.
Responsibilities
- Tidy and organize the children's areas
- Ensure the kitchen and living room is clean, and breakfast items have been cleared away
- Children's laundry - helping with parents' laundry would be a plus
- Collect the children from school at 3.30pm or 4.30pm, depending on the day
- Prepare and cook the children's dinner
- Prepare the children's lunches and snacks for the next day
- Help with homework when required
Qualifications
- Can interact well with the children, and encourage and participate with them in their interests
- When the family travel internationally, they would like the candidate to travel with them on occasion
- French or Spanish speaking would be a plus, but not a requirement
Requirements
- The candidate should be loving, and able to encourage sibling cohesion
- Has a fair, but firm approach
- Babysitting once a week, but not always utilised. (Weekday or weekend).
- Must be legal to work in the US
Salary and Benefits
- $35/hr +
- 5 days PTO
- 2 sick days
- Guaranteed 25 hours per week, possibly 30 hours
