Overview
A lovely couple living in Hell's Kitchen is seeking a local newborn care specialist to start ASAP for 5-7 nights per week through February 1, 2026, with the possibility of extending. The baby is 5 weeks old. The schedule will ideally be 7 nights per week for 9-10 hours per night, but if the ideal candidate can only do 5 nights, they would prefer Sunday through Thursday. Ideal hours are 10pm-8am, but they are open to a 9pm start if preferred. As new parents, they're looking forward to finding someone who can educate them on baby sleep, feeding, routines, and milestones.
Responsibilities
- Care and engagement of the baby, including but not limited to sleep, feeding, and routine management.
- Light housekeeping related to the baby, which will include keepingthe baby's spaces organized, clean, and tidy, and sanitizing any toys or feeding item,s including bottles and pump parts
- Communicating with the parents about milestones, activities, temperament, and needs, and collaborating with them on care.
- Prioritizing the safety and well-being of the baby at all times
- Provide professional guidance as it pertains to baby care while respecting the family’s personal preferences
- Encourage healthy sleep habits and follow safe sleep guidelines
Qualifications
- The right candidate will have a positive and warm demeanor, glowing references, and plenty of experience supporting first-time parents.
- Knowledgeable and supportive personality, able to kindly guide new parents
Requirements
- Up to date on TDap vaccine; ideally flu and COVID vaccines, but not required
- Calming and easy-going personality
- Willing to share a sleeping space witha baby
- Legal to work in the US
- Candidate must live within easy commuting distance/must have own local housing for daytime/off-hours
Salary and Benefits
Hourly pay between $45-50 depending on experience and certifications
