Overview
A private household is seeking an experienced, professional, and discreet Housekeeper to support the smooth running of a busy family home. The successful candidate will be proactive, highly organised, and capable of maintaining exceptional standards at all times. This role would suit an individual with proven experience working within private households who takes pride in their work and understands the importance of discretion.
Key Responsibilities
- Daily cleaning and upkeep of the property to a high standard
- Ensuring the home is consistently well-organised and presentable
- Laundry management, including washing, ironing, and wardrobe care
- Monitoring household supplies and liaising with employers regarding shopping needs
- Coordinating with contractors and calling engineers when household maintenance is required
- Supporting the general rhythm and routine of the household
- Assisting with childcare when required, including supervision and school or activity drop-offs
- Ensuring the security of the property when the family is away
- Occasional travel with the family to provide household and childcare support
- Preparing and cooking healthy meals when requested
Candidate Requirements
- Proven experience working as a Housekeeper within private households (VIP experience desirable)
- High attention to detail with a proactive and flexible approach
- Ability to work independently and use initiative
- Calm, organised, and reliable under pressure
- Trustworthy, discreet, and professional at all times
- Fully DBS checked (or willing to obtain)
- Full clean UK driving licence preferred
- Fluent English; additional languages beneficial
