Overview
A kind family is seeking a very special person to assist them with their two girls, aged 13 and 15. The family is going through a transition, and they are looking for someone who is able to help serve as an anchor and consistent presence for the girls across two separate households on the Upper East Side. This position is very flexible because the top priority is finding the right person- the family is open to live-in or live-out, and they can be flexible on job duties as well as the schedule. The ideal candidate will be comfortable with family assistant and/or house management duties in addition to caring for teenage children, and will understand be capable of handling the challenges that come along with a difficult family transition.
Responsibilities
- High-level "co-parenting"
- Oversee and supervise homework, activities, and home routines
- Act as a liaison between parents, ensuring that rules, schedules, and expectations remain consistent regardless of which house the girls are sleeping in
- Navigate the logistics of different schools
- Drive in the city/surrounding areas
- Collaborate effectively with other household staff
- Various household duties while the children are in school- these can be catered to the ideal candidate's skill-set, but may include cooking, errands, shopping, managing household inventory, calendaring, organization, and other projects
- Travel to the Hamptons for 5-6 weeks during the summer

- Able to implement boundaries with love and patience
- Highly organized and proactive- able to coordinate schedules and manage children's belongings across households
- Able to maintain structure and consistency
- Highly experienced and emotionally intelligent
Requirements
- US work authorization
- Driver's license and comfort driving in and outside of the city
- Willing to travel to the Hamptons for 5-6 weeks during the summer
- Experience with teens
- Able to perform family assistant/house management tasks
- Experience and comfort with dealing with families in transition and the difficulties that can accompany that
