Overview
First time parents in Coconut Grove, Miami are seeking an experienced Newborn Care Specialist to support them following the arrival of their baby, due April 5. The family is looking for a knowledgeable and calm professional who can provide overnight newborn care and guidance during the early postpartum period. The ideal candidate will bring strong newborn expertise and help the parents establish healthy sleep and feeding routines during the baby’s first weeks. This is a structured overnight role designed to support the parents while providing attentive and professional newborn care. The family is beginning interviews immediately to secure the right candidate before the baby arrives. You must be local to Miami, as this is an overnight, live-out role.
- 10-hour overnight shifts
- 5 nights per week
- Initial contract of 4 weeks with a potential extension up to 6 weeks depending on caregiver availability and the family's needs
Responsibilities
- Always prioritizing the safety and wellbeing of the newborn
- Providing overnight newborn care and monitoring
- Assisting with bottle feeding and supporting breastfeeding mother, as needed
- Preparing bottles and maintaining proper sanitation of all feeding equipment
- Washing, sterilizing, and organizing bottles and pump parts
- Performing overnight diaper changes and maintaining infant hygiene
- Implementing soothing techniques and settling the baby back to sleep
- Supporting the development of healthy sleep habits and age-appropriate sleep routines
- Maintaining and adjusting sleep and feeding schedules as the baby grows
- Keeping detailed overnight logs of feedings, sleep patterns, diaper changes, and observations
- Maintaining a clean, organized nursery environment
- Sanitizing newborn equipment, bottles, and feeding areas
- Washing, folding, and organizing infant laundry including swaddles, clothing, and linens, as needed
- Providing guidance to parents regarding newborn care, sleep, feeding, and developmental stages
- Monitoring the baby’s overall wellbeing and communicating clearly with parents about overnight patterns or concerns
Qualifications

- Reliable, attentive, and detail oriented
- Strong references from previous newborn care placements
Requirements
- 5+ years as a Certified Newborn Care Specialist, Certified Doula/Postpartum Doula or equivalent extensive newborn experience is a must.
- Infant CPR and First Aid certification
- Strong knowledge of newborn sleep development and feeding support
- Fluent English speaking is required
- Experience supporting families during the newborn stage
- Ability to maintain professionalism in a private home environment
- Ability to remain awake to provide overnight coverage
- Must maintain flexibility to start on or before April 5th
