Overview
A loving Long Island family is seeking a reliable, warm, and responsible live-in caretaker/companion to support an elderly man who is largely self-sufficient. This role focuses on assistance, organization, and quality of life rather than hands-on medical care. The general schedule will be 5 days a week, with the occasional 6th day as needed. There will be lots of downtime throughout the day. Flexibility will be required as the day-to-day needs change. Travel to Palm Beach from January through April will be required. The family is not offering relocation, and local candidates are preferred.
Responsibilities
Include, but are not limited to:
- Provide companionship, conversation, and emotional support
- Drive client to appointments, errands, and activities
- Grocery shopping and running local errands
- Light housekeeping (tidying, laundry assistance, maintaining a clean and safe environment)
- Meal planning and light meal preparation
- Accompany client to doctor appointments and assist with medication scheduling/ reminders
- Assist with home organization and general home safety awareness
- Provide light pet care as needed
Qualifications
- Must have a valid driver's license
- Dependable, patient, and respectful
- Able to maintain confidentiality and professionalism
Salary and Benefits
The family is offering $75k to $85k commensurate with experience.
