Overview
A busy family on Long Island is seeking a fantastic live-in nanny/family assistant for their two children- an 8-year-old girl and 3-year-old boy. This role provides five-day live-in accommodations, and the candidate should be able to return to their own home on weekends. The general schedule is 7:30am-6pm, with some flexibility for later evenings if the parents have work obligations. Both children are in school full-time, so the nanny should feel comfortable handling family assistant duties as needed throughout the day.The live-in accommodations are a private bedroom/bathroom, as well as a separate area on the basement level. This family loves to travel, so willingness and desire to travel is a big part of this role. Candidates should be willing to travel multiple times per year, up to several weeks at a time, both domestically and internationally.
Responsibilities
- Handling the morning routine, getting the children up, fed, and out the door to school
- Accompanying children from school to various after-school activities and playdates
- Proactively planning developmentally appropriate outings and activities related to the children's interests
- Grocery shopping, running errands, and handling child-related inventory
- Planning and preparing basic meals for the children
- Keeping children's areas organized and tidy
- Managing the school calendar, researching and booking activities, and scheduling appointments
- Planning parties and shopping for gifts
- Travel as needed, domestically and internationally
Qualifications
- Child focused and engaging
- Proactive and self sufficient, as the parents are busy professionals who do not micromanage
- Able to work with multiple children of different developmental stages
- Organized and able to manage schedules and plan activities
Requirements
- Driver's license and clean record (a car will be provided)
- US work authorization
- Desire for a long-term role
- Able to live-in five days
- Eager and able to travel domestically and internationally
Salary and Benefits
- $100-120k annually, DOE
