Overview
A wonderful growing family in West Los Angeles, CA are seeking two rotational Newborn Care Specialists their child, due in late October 2026. The role will last 3 to 6 months. The family is open to a few different schedules in order to provide 24/7 coverage. They will do 12 hr shifts, 3.5 day rotational or 7 day rotational. The candidates can be local to LA and commute back and forth or can live on the property in separate, private accommodations. Responsibilities
The Newborn Care Specialist will play a key role in supporting both the baby and parents during the early postpartum period. Responsibilities include:
- Ensuring the baby’s safety, comfort, and overall well-being at all times
- Establishing and implementing healthy sleep habits and age-appropriate overnight routines that parents can confidently continue after the contract concludes
- Help establish and maintain feeding and sleep routines aligned with the child’s developmental stage
- Support smooth day-to-day household routines related to the child’s care and well-being
- All baby related housekeeping including laundry, bottles, and sterilizing
- Organize and care for baby clothing, gear, toys, and daily essentials
- Monitor household inventory and pro-actively communicate replenishment needs to parents
- Ensure baby supplies and care-giving items are organized, accessible, and properly maintained
- Maintain a clean, tidy, and well-organized nursery and child-related spaces
Work collaboratively with other staff including another Newborn Care Specialist. There is other staff in the home and the family values integrity, hard-work, kindness. and a down-to- earth attitude. They are not looking for anyone who will be causing drama or conflict.
- Encourage healthy development through daily movement, nature exposure, and outdoor activity.
Qualifications
- The ideal candidate will have a positive and calm demeanor, glowing references, and plenty of experience working in long-term roles.
- The family is looking for professional, thoughtful, experienced, and serious candidates about teaching a baby to sleep through the night.
- They are excited to bring on two team players to support them and the baby and are looking for a candidate who can read the room and knows when to step in and out.
- The most successful candidates will have evidence-based approaches, strong communication and social skills, and an easygoing attitude.
Requirements
- Someone who understands when to step in and step out will do well here. This is a busy household and they need a team-player who will be flexible and adaptable to the needs of the family and home.
- Valid U.S. Passport, Green Card, or Employment Authorization Card (EAC)
- Current vaccinations, including Flu, RSV, Tdap, and MMR
- Current Infant/Child CPR and First Aid certification
- Must be pet friendly
- A valid driver's license is required for this role .
- Availability to commit to the full contract term
Salary and Benefits
- The length of the term will be paid on the books and the hourly rate or day rate DOE and is open for the right people
