An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Interior Manager to join a warm and welcoming UHNW family estate in Pennsylvania.
This substantial property serves as the primary residence for two Principals who are focused on creating a positive, family-oriented household culture. Having purchased the estate in recent years, they are now building their long-term residential team and are seeking an individual who will become a valued member of the household.
This is a hands-on role, ideal for a Chief Stewardess, Purser/Stew, House Manager, or experienced Private Household professional looking to transition ashore whilst remaining actively involved in the day-to-day running of a luxury residence.
The Household
The Principals place great importance on family, hospitality, and creating a relaxed yet professional home environment. While the day-to-day household is relatively quiet, the estate regularly hosts family visits, gatherings, celebrations, and holiday entertaining.
The successful candidate will take ownership of the interior operation whilst working alongside the wider household team. This is not a purely managerial position; the Interior Manager will be expected to lead by example and remain actively involved in service, housekeeping, organisation, and the day-to-day presentation of the home.
Key Responsibilities
- Overseeing the day-to-day interior operation of the residence
- Maintaining exceptional housekeeping standards throughout the property
- Hands-on housekeeping including cleaning, laundry, ironing, wardrobe care, and seasonal organisation as required
- Delivering formal and informal food and beverage service for the Principals, family members, and guests
- Table setting, dining room presentation, and event preparation
- Assisting with family gatherings, holiday celebrations, and private entertaining
- Managing household inventories, supplies, and provisioning for interior departments
- Coordinating household schedules and ensuring the smooth running of daily operations
- Liaising with external contractors, suppliers, and service providers when required
- Maintaining household manuals, inventories, and operating procedures
- Training, mentoring, and supporting other household staff where appropriate
- Ensuring guest areas, family spaces, and service areas are maintained to the highest standards at all times
- Anticipating the needs of the Principals and providing proactive support
- Working closely with the wider household team to create a seamless and welcoming environment
- Remaining flexible and adaptable to changing family schedules and requirements
Candidate Profile
- Previous experience as a Chief Stewardess, Senior Stewardess, Interior Manager, House Manager, or similar role within yachting, luxury hospitality, or UHNW private households
- Strong service and housekeeping background with exceptional attention to detail
- Experience managing interior operations whilst remaining actively involved in hands-on duties
- Highly organised with strong administrative and inventory management skills
- Confident delivering both formal and informal service to UHNW individuals and guests
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proactive, self-motivated, and capable of working independently
- Warm, approachable, and professional personality with a genuine enjoyment of working within a family-focused environment
- Positive team player who leads by example and supports the wider household team
- Flexible, discreet, and highly trustworthy with a strong understanding of confidentiality and private household etiquette
- Comfortable adapting between operational oversight and practical day-to-day household responsibilities
