Overview
A UHNW family in Brentwood, Los Angeles, is seeking an experienced, polished, and highly engaging Nanny to support their three school-aged children, ages 8, 10, and 13.
The role will primarily focus on the children’s before- and after-school routines, including getting them ready for school in the mornings, helping them transition home in the afternoons, supporting homework and school projects, and coordinating extracurricular activities.
The older two daughters are increasingly independent, so the family is looking for someone who can provide an appropriate balance of support, structure, and encouragement while helping the children develop confidence and independence.
An educational or teaching background is highly desirable, particularly for providing homework assistance and academic support.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and support the children’s morning routines and ensure they are prepared and on time for school.
- Provide after-school care and help the children transition smoothly from school into homework and activities.
- Assist with homework, reading, school projects, and general academic organization.
- Support the children with study habits, time management, and staying organized with school commitments.
- Drive children safely to and from school, extracurricular activities, sports, lessons, appointments, and social engagements.
- Help coordinate the children’s busy schedules and daily activities.
- Encourage age-appropriate independence while remaining a dependable and supportive presence.
- Plan and engage the children in appropriate recreational and educational activities.
- Prepare simple snacks and assist with child-related organization.
- Communicate professionally with the parents regarding schoolwork, activities, schedules, and the children’s general well-being.
- Work collaboratively with parents, tutors, teachers, and other household staff.
- Provide occasional evening or weekend support as required.
- Maintain complete discretion and confidentiality within the private household.
Candidate Requirements
- Previous professional nanny experience with school-aged children.
- Experience working with older children and teenagers preferred.
- Educational, teaching, tutoring, or academic background strongly preferred.
- Confident assisting with homework and schoolwork across multiple subjects.
- Warm, energetic, patient, and engaging personality.
- Highly organized with excellent time-management skills.
- Mature, responsible, discreet, and emotionally intelligent.
- Comfortable working within a UHNW/private household environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
- CPR and First Aid certification preferred.
- Team-oriented and comfortable working alongside other household professionals.
- Long-term commitment to the family preferred.
