A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced and highly professional Governess to join a fully staffed UHNW private household based on Palm Jumeirah, Dubai.
Job Description
The Governess will take a key role in supporting the education, development and day-to-day wellbeing of the Principal’s three children, working closely alongside the existing nanny and governess team. The household is well staffed, with childcare professionals present at all times, so this is an excellent opportunity for an experienced
Governess who enjoys working as part of a professional team.
The successful candidate will bring a warm, engaging and structured approach to childcare, with a particular focus on the children’s education, development, manners and routines.
Role Responsibilities
- Take responsibility for the children’s educational and developmental needs.
- Support homework, schoolwork and age-appropriate learning activities.
- Develop engaging educational, cultural and recreational activities.
- Encourage good manners, confidence, independence and social development.
- Assist with school routines, schedules, activities and appointments.
- Work closely with nannies and other household staff to ensure consistency of care.
- Support the children during travel, holidays and family events when required.
- Maintain a structured and positive environment for the children.
- Liaise professionally with parents, tutors, schools and other educational professionals where appropriate.
- Maintain complete discretion and confidentiality regarding the family and household.
- Be flexible and proactive in responding to the family’s requirements.
Candidate Requirements
- Previous experience working as a Governess within a UHNW or high-profile private household.
- A strong educational background, ideally with relevant teaching, childcare or education qualifications.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A warm, nurturing and engaging personality combined with strong professional boundaries.
- The ability to work seamlessly within a large, fully staffed household.
- High standards of presentation, organisation and professionalism.
- Strong cultural awareness and discretion.
- A proactive, flexible and team-oriented approach.
- The ability to build genuine, long-term relationships with children while maintaining appropriate authority.
