Overview
A prominent, warm, and food-loving Manhattan-based family of four (2 adults and 2 children) seeks a talented and highly experienced private chef to manage meal planning and preparation in their homes. The position is located on Manhattan’s Upper East Side (year-round), and East Hampton (July and August). The schedule for the position is 4 weekdays per week in Manhattan and must include Monday and Friday, with flexibility as a full time employee. The Summer schedule is 4-5-days per week in East Hampton, NY.
Responsibilities
- Prepare creative, flavorful, nutritionally balanced meals with exceptional presentation
- Family favorites revolve around Italian cuisine- especially freshly made pastas and breads- and creative desserts
- Ability to incorporate and blend various cuisines, including Mediterranean, French, American, and Asian influences
- Plan weekly menus collaboratively based on seasonal ingredients, dietary goals, and family preferences
- Source the freshest, highest-quality ingredients, emphasizing seasonal produce and locally sourced foods
- Maintain impeccable kitchen cleanliness, organization, and inventory management
Qualifications
- Proven track record, with at least two-years consecutively as a full-time private chef in private household
- Strong expertise in Italian cuisine, fresh pasta and bread-making skills, and excellent dessert preparation
- Passionate about sourcing top-quality seasonal ingredients
- Exceptional time management, organizational skills, and cleanliness habits
- Respectful of privacy and able to integrate smoothly into family life
Requirements
- Must extensive experience working exclusively for a private family for at least two consecutive years.
- Ability to go to the Hampton's for the Summer months
- Ability to work 4 days per week
- Valid drivers license
Salary and Benefits
- Compensation for this role does depend on experience and ranges from $600-$750 per day plus a health care contribution
