Job Title: Nanny / House Manager
Location: New York City
Start Date: ASAP
Schedule: Live-in Monday 2:30 PM → Sunday 12:00 PM (Live-out Sunday to Monday)
Salary: $120,000 per year
A caring, capable, and highly organized Nanny/House Manager is needed to support a busy NYC family with two children who are 7 months and 7 years old. The role combines hands-on childcare with proactive household management, requiring someone who is experienced, self-directed, and able to maintain a smooth, well-organized home environment.
Responsibilities
- Provide attentive, developmentally appropriate care for both children, including feeding, napping, play, homework support, school routines, and age-appropriate activities
- Manage daily schedules, children’s calendars, school communication, appointments, classes, playdates, and reminders
- Prepare children’s meals and snacks; pack/unpack school and activity bags; maintain organized children’s rooms, clothing, toys, and supplies
- Handle school and activity transitions, including pickups/drop-offs (walking or public transit)
- Oversee overall household organization and functioning, ensuring the home is safe, tidy, and well stocked
- Manage vendors and service providers (maintenance, deliveries, cleaners, repairs) and coordinate household services
- Track household and children’s supplies, place orders, manage returns, and maintain inventory
- Assist with light household tasks related to the children (laundry, dishes, tidying common areas, reorganizing as needed)
- Support family travel readiness, packing, and unpacking when required
- Communicate consistently with parents regarding schedules, updates, and household matters
Candidate Requirements
- 10+ years of full-time nanny or nanny/house manager experience is a MUST
- Experience with both infants and school-age children
- Strong organization, communication, and time-management skills
- Professional, mature, discreet, and proactive with excellent judgment
- Ability to work independently and manage a busy household
- CPR/First Aid certified or willing to obtain certification
- Long-term, year-round availability preferred
