Our client, a private family with a growing portfolio of high-end properties across California, is seeking an experienced Estate Manager to oversee multiple residences and lead a dedicated household team. We are specifically looking for a candidate with a strong luxury hospitality background who understands five-star service standards and can translate this seamlessly into a private household environment.

The Role
The Estate Manager will have full responsibility for the smooth day-to-day running of multiple residences, ensuring exceptional service, immaculate presentation, and operational efficiency at all times. You will oversee all household staff and vendors, implement robust systems and procedures, and act as the primary operational point of contact for the family.
This is a hands-on leadership role requiring both strategic oversight and on-the-ground involvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage all household staff across multiple properties
- Maintain five-star hospitality standards across all residences
- Oversee daily operations including HR coordination, scheduling, and performance management
- Manage budgets, reporting, payroll coordination, and vendor contracts
- Liaise with and oversee maintenance teams, contractors, and construction vendors
- Assist with renovation projects, property improvements, and preventative maintenance
- Develop and refine SOPs, systems, and workflows to ensure seamless operations
- Coordinate events and family visits
- Serve as the primary liaison between the family, staff, and external partners
Ideal Candidate
- Strong background in luxury hospitality (five-star hotels, private estates, or superyacht environments)
- Proven experience managing UHNW private households or high-end properties
- Experience working with construction vendors and overseeing renovation or improvement projects highly desirable
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Financially astute with experience managing property budgets
- Highly organised, detail-oriented, and service-driven
- Discreet, proactive, and solutions-focused
- Comfortable overseeing multiple properties and diverse teams
