Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM. Flexibility required to cover occasional weekends (maximum two weekend days per month).

We are recruiting for an experienced and highly professional Head Housekeeper to manage the housekeeping operations of a luxury private residence in North West London on a one-year maternity cover basis.

The successful candidate will lead by example, maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness, organisation, and presentation throughout the property, while managing and supporting a team of housekeepers.
The principals are seeking a discreet, hands-on individual who can maintain existing systems, ensure smooth daily operations, and uphold an immaculate and welcoming home environment at all times.
Job Description
The Head Housekeeper will oversee all housekeeping operations within a substantial private residence. The property is a large, multi-level home that requires meticulous attention to detail and consistent upkeep to ensure it is maintained to the highest standards.
You will lead a small team of housekeepers, coordinating daily schedules and tasks while ensuring efficiency and consistency in all housekeeping duties. The role is both managerial and hands-on, requiring the Head Housekeeper to step in and assist the team when necessary to maintain exceptional standards.
Working hours are typically 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday, with flexibility required for occasional weekend support when the principals are hosting or during special events.
You will collaborate with other household staff to ensure the smooth running of the home, maintaining a highly organised and professional environment that reflects the expectations of a UHNW household.
Role Responsibilities
- Oversee and maintain the highest standards of housekeeping throughout the property
- Manage, supervise, and support the housekeeping team, ensuring all duties are completed efficiently
- Train housekeeping staff as required
- Maintain household inventories and manage stock levels for cleaning products, linens, and supplies
- Oversee laundry operations, including the care of delicate fabrics and luxury garments
- Manage wardrobe organisation and ensure proper garment care standards are maintained
- Ensure all bedrooms, bathrooms, and living areas are immaculate and guest-ready at all times
- Provide service support to principals and guests when required, including table setting and assistance during events
- Provide hands-on housekeeping cover when required
- Liaise with other household staff to ensure smooth household operations
- Maintain the highest levels of discretion, professionalism, and confidentiality at all times
Candidate Requirements
- Minimum 5+ years’ experience in a senior housekeeping role within UHNW private households, luxury environments, or the yachting industry
- Proven experience managing, mentoring, and supporting a housekeeping team
- Demonstrable longevity in previous roles, supported by strong references
- Excellent knowledge of formal household service and private household etiquette
- Strong understanding of luxury garment care, delicate fabrics, and wardrobe management
- Experience working within large, high-end private residences with exacting standards
- Exceptional attention to detail and organisational skills
- Professional, polished, and well-presented at all times
- High level of discretion, integrity, and trustworthiness
- Hands-on, proactive, and flexible, able to assist the team when required
