A private family is seeking an experienced and dedicated Executive Housekeeper to oversee all aspects of daily cleaning, organization, and household operations in a formal private residence. This is a hands-on role that includes staff supervision and serving as the primary liaison between the family and the Estate Manager. The ideal candidate is highly detail-oriented, professional, discreet, and capable of maintaining the highest standards of service while working collaboratively within an established team.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform daily deep cleaning to museum-quality standards, including fine surfaces, floors, silver, antiques, artwork, and décor
- Manage all laundry, ironing, stain removal, hand-washing, and delicate garment care
- Oversee seasonal wardrobe management, closet organization, and clothing inventory
- Maintain bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchen, dining areas, and children’s rooms to impeccable standards
- Make beds, change linens, and ensure all living spaces remain tidy and well-organized
- Provide light cooking support (coffee, snacks, simple meals) and assist with meal setup and service as needed
- Offer occasional childcare support
- Pack and unpack luggage for family travel
- Greet visitors, manage deliveries, run errands, and fulfill special requests
- Supervise housekeepers, promote teamwork, and maintain a positive team environment
- Manage household supplies, pantry inventory, and ordering
- Coordinate repairs, vendors, and work with the houseman as required
- Uphold staff professionalism, appearance, and adherence to household protocols
- Track dry-cleaning and all clothing care needs
- Protect the family’s privacy, safety, and security at all times
Schedule: Full-time, with flexibility required (including occasional weekends/evenings)
Qualifications
- Minimum 5–7 years of experience as an Executive Housekeeper or Head Housekeeper in a formal private household
- Previous supervisory or leadership experience required
- Excellent references from prior employers in private service
- Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills
- Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to maintain the highest service standards
