Head Housekeeper – UHNW Private Estate

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Head Housekeeper to join a 25+ acre private estate in Surrey.
Working within an established household team, the Head Housekeeper will be responsible for maintaining exceptional standards throughout the residence and leading a team of 5 experienced Housekeepers.
The household operates to an extremely high standard, with a strong emphasis on creating a polished, luxury hotel-style environment. We are therefore looking for someone who has worked within high-end private households, luxury hotels or similarly demanding environments and understands the level of attention to detail required.
This is a hands-on leadership position and would suit someone who is confident managing a multicultural team while remaining approachable, fair and supportive.
Responsibilities
- Overseeing the day-to-day housekeeping operation
- Leading, motivating and supporting the housekeeping team
- Ensuring consistently exceptional standards throughout the residence
- Implementing and maintaining housekeeping procedures and SOPs
- Managing departmental ordering, stock and supplies
- Supporting the team hands-on when required
- Preparing the residence ahead of Principal visits
- Working closely with senior estate management
- Maintaining the highest levels of discretion and confidentiality
Candidate Requirements
- Previous experience as a Head Housekeeper or Senior Housekeeper within a luxury private household or five-star hospitality environment
- Proven experience managing and developing a housekeeping team
- Excellent attention to detail and exceptionally high standards
- Strong administrative and computer skills
- Experience working with SOPs and household procedures
- Physically fit and comfortable working in a hands-on role
- Discreet, professional and adaptable
- Strong longevity within previous positions
- Experience working within an international or Middle Eastern household would be advantageous
- Flexibility during periods when the Principals are in residence
Working Pattern
The role predominantly operates Monday to Friday outside of the summer season, moving to a 5-day-on / 2-day-off rolling rota during busier periods when the Principals are in residence.
