Please note: This role has very specific experience requirements. Applicants must have a strong Michelin-starred restaurant background in Europe, genuine experience with Mediterranean cuisine gained across the Mediterranean region, and previous experience working within private households.
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an accomplished Private Chef to join a European family of four based in Dubai.
The family are looking for a highly skilled chef who combines an excellent Michelin/fine-dining foundation with substantial experience working within private households. While the standard of cooking expected is extremely high, this is not a formal or heavily entertaining household. The focus is on exceptional, fresh and beautifully prepared food for the family on a day-to-day basis.
The family particularly enjoys Mediterranean cuisine, and it is important that the Chef has genuine experience working with the cuisines and ingredients of the Mediterranean, ideally having worked across countries such as France, Italy, Spain, Greece or other parts of the Mediterranean region.
The Role
The Chef will take responsibility for the day-to-day running of the family kitchen, primarily preparing lunch and dinner.
Responsibilities will include:
- Preparing fresh, high-quality meals for a family of four
- Providing lunch and dinner service, generally consisting of two courses
- Creating varied menus centred around Mediterranean cuisine
- Sourcing excellent seasonal produce and high-quality ingredients
- Managing all food shopping, kitchen stocks and inventories
- Maintaining impeccable kitchen hygiene and organisation
- Adapting menus around the family's schedule, preferences and travel
- Preparing meals for occasional guests and small-scale entertaining
- Running the kitchen independently and to an exceptionally high standard
Essential Experience
The client is specifically looking for a Chef who can demonstrate:
- A strong Michelin-starred restaurant background, having worked within established Michelin-starred restaurants in Europe
- Professional experience working across the Mediterranean region, with an excellent understanding of Mediterranean cuisines, ingredients and cooking styles
- Previous long-term Private Chef experience within UHNW private family households
- Experience working for private families outside of solely Royal Household environments
- The ability to take Michelin-level training and technique and translate this into relaxed, fresh and beautifully executed family food
- Strong longevity and stability within previous positions
- Excellent references from previous private employers
- A discreet, personable and adaptable approach
- Confidence working independently without the structure of a large brigade
This position would particularly suit a Chef who began their career within high-level European restaurants before moving successfully into private service, and who now enjoys the more personal nature of cooking for a family.
The family are looking for someone who can become a trusted and long-term member of the household rather than simply providing restaurant-style dining at home.
