Overview
A kind family of four in the Flatiron/Union Square neighborhood of Manhattan is looking for a loving and reliable nanny to join their family and help take care of a 5-year-old-boy. There is also a 11-year-old girl in the family, but she is at school full-time and has an after-school babysitter. The schedule will be a guaranteed minimum of 40-45 hours per week to be determined between the family and the candidate to hire. At least two days per week will be a 7am start. The start date will be asap.
Responsibilities
- Full child-care of school-aged child
- Team-player to communicate with involved parents and after-school babysitter
- Healthy cooking for children's meals
- Child laundry
- Light housekeeping and family assisting (dishes, making beds, tidying up) while the children are at school
Qualifications
- Creative, active, and helpful disposition
- Reliable and consistent. Both parents work and need a true partner who they can rely on
- Excited to explore and get out and about with a school aged child (playgrounds, playdates, etc.) and willing to get on the floor and play
Ideal but not required:
- Bilingual English/Spanish
- Driver’s license and clean driving record
- Able to swim
Requirements
- Able to do weekday overnights for additional fee during July and August at a summer residence (separate bedroom and bathroom)
- Professional nannying experience with preschool-age children
- Familiarity with gentle parenting methods (Montessori, RIE, Waldorf, positive discipline)
- Non- smoker
- Looking to make a long-term commitment
- Legal to work in US
Salary and Benefits
$35-40 per hour plus standard benefits
