Achieve Hospitality are delighted to be partnering a stylish restaurant and bar within a boutique hotel and event destination in rural Northumberland. Open for breakfast, lunch, dinner and afternoon tea, it offers a relaxed yet refined all‑day dining experience with menus featuring locally sourced British dishes and seasonal flavours. The restaurant, set in an orangery‑style space, also hosts special dining occasions like Sunday lunch and luxury afternoon tea, and is complemented by a lively bar and outdoor dining options such as a wood‑fired pizza tipi in the warmer months. It’s part of a design‑led hospitality venue that blends contemporary comfort with countryside charm.
They are seeking a passionate, enthusiastic Senior Sous Chef to join their team.
Role Responsibilities:
- Manage food purchasing to ensure targets are achieved and supplier relations are upheld.
- Manage stock counts to ensure there is minimal wastage.
- Manage the food production and be accountable for the quality of all food leaving the kitchens.
- Be accountable for the cleanliness and safe systems of work in all kitchens adhering to Shield and local authority 5 star standards.
- Create pride in the team enabling them to deliver a consistent branded experience.
- Train, mentor and develop junior staff.
- Regularly review information and feedback and consistently respond to guest feedback.
- Support the business with new venue acquisitions and their culinary offerings.
- Deputise for the Group Head Chef in their absence.
Candidate Requirements:
- Held a Senior Sous Chef or Head Chef role previously.
- Have an outgoing personality
- Exceptional organisational and communication skills
- Excellent level in health and safety/hygiene regulations
- Deliver exceptional food and adhere to exceptionally high standards of service.
You will be a team player but also a strong leader who is not afraid to step up in the absence of the head chef.
