We are seeking a proactive and hands-on Assistant House Manager to join a busy, fully staffed private household based in Miami. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to transition from yachting or luxury hospitality into a long-term land-based role, with genuine opportunities for progression.
Working alongside an experienced House Manager, you will become an integral part of the household's daily operation. This is not a back-office management position. The successful candidate will be expected to lead by example, remaining actively involved in the day-to-day running of the residence while helping oversee standards across the household. It is a true all-rounder role, requiring someone who enjoys being operational as well as organised.
The Role
Supporting the House Manager with the overall operation of the residence, responsibilities will include:
- Assisting with the day-to-day management of the household and supporting the House Manager across all operations
- Maintaining exceptional housekeeping standards and being actively involved in housekeeping, laundry and the presentation of the residence when required
- Leading by example and working alongside the household team during busy periods
- Coordinating household staff and helping ensure smooth communication between departments
- Managing inventories, household supplies and ordering
- Assisting with table settings, service and event preparation
- Coordinating contractors and external suppliers where required
- Running errands and supporting the family with ad hoc requests
- Assisting with personal shopping and other household administration
Requirements for the role:
- Previous experience within a private household, superyacht or luxury hospitality environment due to hands on nature of the role.
- A genuinely hands-on approach — someone who is just as happy making a bed, assisting with laundry or helping prepare the house as they are coordinating the wider operation
- Strong housekeeping knowledge with a keen eye for detail and presentation
- Highly organised, proactive and adaptable
- Confident, personable and comfortable working within a family environment
- Able to take initiative and remain calm under pressure
- Positive, resilient and solutions-focused
- Experience with inventories, ordering and household organisation would be highly advantageous
- Spanish language skills would be beneficial but are not essential
- Must have the legal right to work in the USA
Working Schedule
- 5–6 day working week
- Typically working from midday through to the evening
- Flexibility is required during periods of entertaining and family events (time off in lieu provided)
Package
- Salary: Up to $120,000 per annum (depending on experience)
