A discerning private family of three, based in Dubai, maintains a well-run household with high standards of service and a genuine appreciation for quality food. The principal adults share an affinity for Mediterranean cuisine and the pleasures of a well-kept table, and the household operates with warmth, structure and a clear sense of what excellence looks like. This is a close-knit environment in which the chef will be a trusted and valued presence.
THE ROLE
The chef will take full ownership of daily culinary provision for the family, bringing creativity, consistency and care to every service. The role encompasses family meals to a refined standard, simple staff meals for the household team, and occasional cooking for guests and private entertaining. A strong command of Mediterranean cooking and the ability to prepare exceptional steaks are central to what the family is looking for; broader culinary range is warmly welcomed.
— Design seasonal, healthy and varied menus tailored to the family's evolving preferences
— Prepare breakfasts and dinners to a consistently high standard, with a family-style approach to service
— Prepare simple daily meals for the household maid and, where required, the family driver
— Source premium ingredients and manage all grocery shopping with diligence and good judgement
— Oversee the pantry, larder, refrigeration and food inventories, maintaining order and minimising waste
— Keep the kitchen to impeccable standards of hygiene and organisation at all times
— Coordinate with household staff to ensure smooth and well-timed daily operations
— Cater for family guests and private entertaining occasions as required
THE ESSENTIALS

— Part-time; Monday to Thursday 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm, Saturday and Sunday 9:00 am to 1:00 pm, with Friday as a rest day
— Salary competitive, dependent on experience
— Start late August 2026
— Willingness to travel with the family, including periods at their summer residence in Italy and occasional international destinations, is expected
THE CANDIDATE
The family is seeking a female chef, in accordance with household preference, who brings genuine energy and professionalism to a dynamic private setting. She will be instinctively service-oriented, personally well-organised and at ease working closely within a family environment where trust and discretion matter as much as culinary skill. Fluency in Italian and familiarity with authentic Italian culinary tradition would be a considerable advantage, and prior experience in private household service is strongly preferred.

— Broad international culinary knowledge; authentic Italian cuisine a particular strength
