Overview and Opportunity
A private family based in Berkshire is seeking a reliable, professional and flexible Temporary Family Driver to support the family with their day-to-day transportation needs.
The successful candidate will provide essential support with school runs, children’s activities, appointments and general family errands.
This is a flexible, part-time temporary position, expected to run for approximately six months, with the potential to extend on a month-by-month basis.
The family is open to candidates who hold a full UK driving licence and are able to drive the family’s vehicles.
Job Description
The successful candidate will provide a safe, discreet and professional driving service for the family, helping them manage their children’s daily schedules and ensuring they can travel efficiently between home, school and activities.
The role will be organised on an on-call basis, with the family’s requirements and schedule generally provided every 2-4 weeks. Hours are not currently fixed, and there may be some quieter periods or downtime between driving requirements.
The family has access to a number of suitable vehicles, which will be available for the successful candidate to use.
There is also potential for the role to develop into a broader household support position, with the candidate assisting with additional household tasks during periods of downtime.
Role Responsibilities
- School drop-offs and collections for the family’s children
- Transporting the nanny and children when required
- Driving to children’s appointments and activities
- Shopping and general family errands
- Providing ad-hoc transportation as required
- Being available on an on-call basis according to the family’s schedule
- Planning routes and navigating efficiently around the Berkshire area and the surrounding areas
- Maintaining a clean and presentable vehicle
- Providing a friendly, professional and discreet service
- Communicating clearly with the family regarding timings, changes and requirements
- Potentially assisting with additional household duties during periods of downtime
Candidate Requirements
- Full, clean UK driving licence
- Previous experience as a private family driver, chauffeur, nanny driver or similar is advantageous
- Excellent knowledge of Berkshire and the surrounding areas
- Confident using maps, navigation systems and planning efficient routes
- Safe, competent and confident driver
- Professional, trustworthy and discreet
- Excellent communication skills
- Friendly and approachable manner
- Flexible and willing to work on an on-call basis
- Comfortable working with young children
- Well presented and professional
- Enhanced DBS would be highly desirable
